The Weekend Steal: Vita Coco haircare
If you’re anything like us, you’ve gone pretty nuts for coconuts in recent years. coconut water, coconut oil, coconut milk – much of it from Vita Coco, as it happens.
Well now, as Vita Coco put it, they want us to be ready to ‘grab life by the coconuts’ (!) with a fab new haircare range, featuring 95% naturally-derived ingredients. And honestly, we’d encourage you to do just that.
It smells deliciously, whisk-you-to-the-tropics coconutty – honestly, like real coconuts, not a Bounty bar, with up to 31% coconut in each formulation.
The products REALLY work: Jo is shiny and glossy and all swingy-haired-happy after using Vita Coco Coconut Shampoo Repair , £9.99 for 400ml, for damaged, brittle hair like hers, (which is now super-blonde again after a trip to John Frieda), and lashings of the tub of Nourish Mask. Now, this is a tad more expensive – at £12.99 for 250ml –but honestly, a real shining star in its own right. There’s also a Repairing Hair Serum (haven’t tried that) and a Scalp Scrub – because it’s all about the scalp, right now – in fact, there’s a whole scalp RANGE available, with a dash of fruity guava added to the coconutty fragrance.
And Vita Coco haircare comes in FAB packaging; we know we shouldn’t care, but the bottles echo the shape of coconut water containers, AND are created from 50-75% post-consumer waste plastic. (The flip-top lids are super-easy to use in the shower, too.)
Last but absolutely totally not least – something which we know matters more and more to you – Vita Coco is a brand with heart. A certified B Corp (which sets out to balance profit with people and planet), with the goal of lifting one million people in coconut-farming communities out of poverty.
