Beauty Bible Christmas Gift Guide 2024: Extras!
Over the past few weeks, Team Beauty Bible has been sharing our ideas for Christmas gifts – from properly affordable stocking fillers right through to blow-the-budget choices. But we’ve put together an extra round-up, for two reasons: we know lots of people who’ve only just started to think about the impending festivities… Plus, some further great thoughts have struck us, as we tick off our own lists.
So, get set for further suggestions (all of them accessibly-priced).
Andrea Garland Lip Balm Compacts (ABOVE)
We’ve featured Andrea Garland’s lip balms before – and they’re downright fab. The mirrored compact flips open to reveal a pot of luscious, all-natural lip balm which is available in a choice of Clear, Red Tint or Pink Tint, for a light wash of colour. There’s also a vegan option, which replaces the beeswax with candelilla wax, and they can all be refilled. However, we’ve only just seen this particular ‘let them eat cake-y’ line-up, with a bonkers be-hatted cat, a towering wig and a gorgeous rose branch. Too, too adorable!

Nobody’s Child Little Luxuries Set
We are VERY excited that this favourite, sustainable clothing brand has ventured into beauty, launching a collection of fab and reasonably-priced products – and especially kits – in the Christmas countdown. Named after Greek goddesses (Rhea was a nature goddess, renowned for nurturing the next generation), everything is vegan and PETA-approved. Scent-wise, they’re very pleasing – in this instance, the 70g Travel Candle and 50ml Hand Cream are subtly sweet with fruity raspberry, apple and coconut, tethered by sandalwood, vanilla and patchouli.

GAIA Organic Skincare Mini Bath Oil Trio and Mini Body Oils
If you were feeling super-generous, you could give both of these together, as they share the multi-award-winning spa’s same trio of signature scents: Awakening (grapefruit, tangerine, rosemary, petitgrain and geranium essential oils); Balancing (mandarin, ylang ylang, geranium, frankincense and palmarosa); and Calming (lavender, grapefruit, orange, clary sage and chamomile). We have been fans from the get-go of this West Country spa-founded brand, and often gift it to those we love.

Paul & Joe Cat Head Lipstick (Beige Pink)
We cannot think of any girl or woman who would not smile at opening this universally flattering lipstick (NB it’s a limited edition, so don’t say you weren’t warned). Who cares that the tip eventually smooths down to a normal lipstick bullet shape? Until then, they will be the cat that got the cream-y lipstick.

A couple of the gifts here may not exactly seem glamorous, but the recipients will truly thank you. Here, a remedy that everyone needs within reach for the Christmas festivities: a proven safe herbal ointment to ease headaches, neck strain or tense shoulder muscles, whether triggered by tiredness, emotional strain or overwork. (Er, or all three, right now!)

Candaroma Frankincense & Rose Bath Salts
At a recent maker’s market in Hastings, Jo was reminded of the fab-ness of these Bath Salts – which are actually made by a business founded and run by her acupuncturist, Paula Roberts. Created in small batches, by hand, they’re properly therapeutic, calming and grounding with those oils of frankincense and damask rose, in a base of Dead Sea and Himalayan salts. You could accompany this hefty amber apothecary jar with a voucher for a session to mind someone’s kids (or anyone else they are caring for), and make yourself even more popular.

Cath Kidston x Paddington Party Travel Pouch
Unashamedly, we remain fans of both Paddington Bear and of Cath Kidston, even though that talented founder has moved on and the range has now been taken over by Next. Wipe-clean and emblazoned with an official, collaborative design of Paddington ‘adventuring through a night of celebration and joy.’ A perfect size for an overnight kit, and we reckon it’ll warm the heart of its recipient, every time the pouch is unzipped.

4711 Original Eau de Cologne Tissues
Well, these sure beat Wet Wipes, grubby hands down. (And, as we know well, are a godsend when the train loo water’s not working. Which it usually isn’t.) Infused with the fresh, zesty scent of the world’s original Eau de Cologne, the single sachet tissues are a total steal – ideal for the toe of a stocking.

Arthouse Unlimited Lady Muck Lip Balms
Yup, more lip balms – but honestly, can anyone have too many? We stash them in every coat pocket, and the three featured here all have different ‘scents’ (of which our personal favourite is the Sweet Orange & Mandarin (pictured above left). Really, though, this is by way of a reminder to check out the gift offerings from the wonderful Arthouse charity, which works with people who have complex neuro-diverse and physical support needs, offering them an outlet for their boundless creativity, a sense of purpose (through the work they create and the sales generated). There are balms, creams soaps (and lots of non-body-and-bath) treats in the collection, and truly, all are gifts with heart.

Compeed Hydrocolloidal Blister Plasters (Mixed pack)
OK, now for what seems the REALLY unsexy one – but these can honestly make the difference between a miserable Christmas and a happy one, if someone’s got party shoes, wellies or walking shoes that have caused a blister – the pain of which, of course, is completely disproportional to the scale of the injury. To us, stocking fillers should be fun, frivolous or downright useful – and these really are.
