Beauty Bible Loves… Ultra Violette newness

Winter SPFs. We’ve talked about them before, and admitted that we’ve revised our opinions, not so much because of light levels outdoors (there honestly has not been much of that lately), but because of blue light from our devices, which doesn’t disappear at – oh, about 3.30 in the afternoon, currently. (Roll on 21st December, we say!)

Ultra Violette are SPF experts (even their pretty name references ‘ultra-violet’), and we’re already keen on the wardrobe of primers, which range from matte to illuminating. But we were recently introduced to two new products at an incredibly beautiful press event – scroll down for a peek – which have seriously impressed.

First up, Ultra-Violette Daydream Screen Tinted Veil, which sounds sheer but honestly is a total alternative to foundation: buildable, with just the right balance of matte and glow that works so well at this time of year. (Though we reckon it would work at most times of year, perhaps choosing one shade darker of the 15 available, during sunnier months). You can apply very easily with fingers, or a foundation brush, and it really, really stays put. (These guys are very good at budge-proof-ability.)

Secondly… well, ANOTHER lip balm to add to our arsenal – but when it’s this fab, we make no apologies… Of the six shades available in Ultra Violette Screen Sheen Hydrating SPF Lip Balm, we tried Pillow and brown-y/nude Smoothie, and love ’em both: so silky, easy to apply from the angled tip, with the reassurance of an SPF50 on lips – yet NONE of the ‘chemical’ flavour associated with so many SPF lip balms. (Note: botanicals include lanolin, cocoa butter, sunflower/castor/olive oils, but the sun-protective ingredients are synthetics.) With a moderately glossy finish, it doesn’t need constant reapplying because it honestly stays put so well.
