Fab Find of the Week: Jurlique UV Defence Daily Lotion SPF50+
The sun has got its hat on! At last! Halle-flipping-lujah! And this week’s Fab Find has landed in our lives just in time…
But let’s rewind… A few weeks ago, we were immersed in the new radiance-boosting Jurlique Herbal Recovery products via a rather wonderful facial at the cool and serene Aqua Spa at Sea Containers London Hotel. (That’s a rather un-glam name for a very spiffy hotel, referencing the company that used to have its HQ there back in the day when Jo edited Honey magazine, almost next door.)
We’ve been enjoying the new products every since – the fab serum, facial oil and innovative Herbal Recovery Eye Roll-On – and are absolutely thrilled that Jurlique decided to offer our readers the chance to check out some of the new range via a fab prize draw on this site, here, with a top prize of five Herbal Recovery products worth £294, plus two duos (Eye Roll-On and Bi-Phase Serum), each worth £117. It’s frankly one of those prize draws which we’d like to enter ourselves – but for obvious reasons, can’t!

Another new creation unveiled at that launch, though, really came into its own this weekend: the completely brilliant Jurlique UV Defence Daily Lotion SPF50+, offering absolutely optimum protection against both UVA and UVB. It is honestly bliss to use on our drier skins: a non-sticky, fragrance-free but nourishing lotion that simply melts comfortably into skin; give it a minute or two, and you’ve a great base over which to apply make-up.
For effectiveness against UV damage, chemical sunscreens have been incorporated alongside Jurlique’s usual high level of botanicals; glycerine and hyaluronic acid also feature, for moisturisation.
The resulting lightweight texture – unlike many facial SPFs, which can be a bit thick and difficult to smooth into skin – makes it a breeze to work it all the way down to bra level, which is honestly wise advice from here on in: the décolletage is perfectly angled to pick up sun damage, and this is a great shield. And what’s more, there’s absolutely zero white ‘cast’.
A winner in its own right, we reckon.
