Beauty Bible Loves... UpCircle Refillable Deodorant
Great brand, great idea, great product.
We could just stop there with our praise for UpCircle Refillable Deodorant, but there’s lots to share about why we like it.
First off, we’re all trying to cut down on waste, and once you’ve purchased this 100% plastic-free (it’s aluminium) swivel-up deo, in future, you simply slide in the cartridge to top it up. (A three-monthly subscription is available, though we’d counsel trying anything before you sign up to a scheme like that, always.) See below for the cartridges, meanwhile.
Secondly, the ingredients: based on cornstarch (rather than baking soda, which irritates some skins), it’s absorbent – though remember, NOT an anti-perspirant, strictly. (So, if you perspire a lot, and it bothers you, maybe look elsewhere.)
Thirdly, the scent: a zesty mix of bergamot and lime which is pleasantly fresh. This is blended into a skin-friendly base of upcycled, anti-inflammatory prickly pear and macadamia oil, which are nicely moisturising. The texture reminds us of some of the balm-style deodorants we’ve used in the past, but it glides on via the stick, rather than needing to be massaged in with fingers.
And one last thing this has going for it: British brother-and-sister-founded brand UpCircle is B-Corp certified, via which their social and environmental efforts are assessed and certified. The number of beauty companies doing this is growing all the time, which makes us super-happy – but hats off to any brand that goes the extra mile to jump through those hoops.
It definitely means sweating the small stuff. But happily, UpCircle have a product to deal with that, don’t you know?
