Studio 10 Wake Up & Glow Lip & Cheek Tint
We've seen soooooo many products over the years which promise to double up as cheek and lipcolours – and really don't. It's the shades, you see: what works on lips is often w-a-y too dark for cheeks, and what looks pale on lips just doesn't add enough oomph, blusher-wise. Also the textures rarely multi-task well: what's good on lips turns out not to blend well on cheeks, or vice versa.
So we feel a little like Goldilocks when she'd stumbled upon the perfect temperature of porridge, here, having found THE perfect lip and cheek colour: a swivel-up, fairly slimline, sleekly-packaged stick, from the 'grown-up' make-up line, Studio 10, founded by Grace Fodor. Everything she creates is targeted at more mature skins, like ours – and we are deeply grateful for the 'pro-age' approach.
We can't speak for all the shades, actually, when it comes to telling you that Wake Up & Glow Lip & Cheek Tint works equally well on lips and cheeks. But the one we were sent – a sort of rosewood shade called Roseberry - is just perfect. (We've a hunch that Tearose would be, too – not so convinced about Peach (see shade chart below).
The super-soft texture is perfect, too. Inside the colour element of the stick, there's a core of hyaluronic acid-based moisture, which helps the product glide smoothly, blend well (with a fingertip or a blusher brush), and nurtures our dry lips and complexion.
It is fantastically convenient for slipping into a handbag – a jeans pocket, even – for a quick, complexion-perking touch-up.
