Beauty Bible Loves... Lisa Eldridge Embrace Melting Lip Colour
We love a tinted lip balm.
We’re mad for lipstick.
And we adore Lisa Eldridge.
So, the make-up artist’s new lip product – we’d call it a hybrid balm-lipstick – was almost bound to go down a storm, with Beauty Bible. Alerted by Lisa’s Instagram, we duly counted down till the moment it went on sale, ordered – and bingo! Embrace Melting Lip Colour was in our hot little hands within 24 hours – and does not in the least disappoint. Au contraire!
First, the GLIDE. Well, it is called ‘melting’ – and it’s just so, so nourishing. That’s down to jojoba and meadowfoam seed oils, and a trio of butters: murumuru, shea and wild mango kernel. It genuinely softens and moisturises, lastingly. An absolute joy to apply.
Second, the finish – we’d call it ‘sheen-y’, if there’s such a word. Not sticky-shiny like a gloss, and sheerer than most lipsticks – but…
Thirdly, we like the just-so level of pigment. Not a whisper, but something that truly shows on the lips, enhancing your natural lip tone. It’s not as opaque as most lipsticks, but more dense than a lip tint. Thus far, there are five shades (see below for how they appear on different skintones), and we’re loving Red Curve and Épanoui, which is a perfect rosewood shade. (You say it ‘EH-PAN-WEE’, and we also love that it translates as ‘blossoming into your true, authentic self.’)
And the bottom line is: we’re blowing Lisa a big, sheen-y kiss, for coming up with this.
