Beauty Bible Loves... Aurelia Hydrate & Protect Anti-Ageing SPF50

If you have thirsty skin, applying SPF is often a two-step process. First, a moisturiser to quench skin. Second, a broad-spectrum SPF to shield skin against UVA and UVB. Over the years, we’ve tried many – and generally, they’re not moisturising enough for dry skin, which is why we end up layering, instead.

But our search for something that delivers a proper mega-dose of moisture AND protection is over, thanks to Aurelia’s first facial SPF50, Hydrate & Protect Anti-Ageing SPF50.

Aurelia maintain that it has an ‘ultra-lightweight’ texture, but we’d beg to disagree: without being heavy, it delivers a mega-dose of sodium hyaluronic acid (a particularly bioavailable form of hyaluronic acid), plus glycerine, as well as Aurelia’s PROTIDA probiotic complex (NB this was one of the first brands really to talk abou the benefits of probiotics in skincare). There’s a 2% concentration of niacinamide, too – a skincare ingredient that our complexions can never get enough of, delivering many of the benefits of vitamin A but in a much kinder-to-skin way

Moreover, when you massage Aurelia Hydrate & Protect Anti-Ageing SPF50 into skin, a delicious sort of ‘slip’ develops, which makes it even easier to apply (we reckon that’s thanks to the glycerine). Wait a minute or two, and it’s fine to apply make-up over the top – but skin’s left so comfy, so nourished, so plumped, you’ll probably need less of that than usual. (VERY importantly, meanwhile, it doesn’t ‘pill’ when you apply make-up – another downside with some SPFs.)

And lo, an SPF superstar is born…
