Beauty Bible Loves... CHANEL Le Bi-Phase Visage

This was always a go-to for make-up removal – and, Brownie’s Honour, NOT because it’s more chic-ly packaged than any other remove out there.

A year or so ago, though, Jo discovered that this go-to cleanser had been discontinued. It wouldn’t have been the done thing to wail in the middle of Harrods’ Chanel department, but she sure felt like it.

And then, on a more recent visit to a Chanel counter, there it was again. Reissued, supposedly with a new formula (we honestly can’t tell the difference), having lost NONE of its amazing cleansing power to remove every last atom – and we are talking atom – of eye make-up, without ever tugging at the fragile eye skin. Jo bought two, performing an imaginary dance, since the real thing would be equally inappropriate on a marbled shop floor.

In our experience (NB not inconsiderable), dual-phase removers out-perform any other kind, with the shake-before-use action mixing an oil phase and a water phase, which somehow targets mascara, shadow and eyeliner on both fronts.

But this? Jo would have you believe: best of the lot – and a bottle lasts and lasts.
