Beauty Bible Loves... By Terry Hyaluronic Lip Liner
Lip liner. Could we be bothered, lately…? Nope. Until this little life-changer.
Last week, we had lunch with the amazing Terry de Gunzburg, pioneering make-up artist (notably resident at YSL for many years, where she launched Touche Éclat), whose own By Terry brand has long been a favourite of ours.
It was mostly a long-overdue catch-up – Jo was the very first beauty editor to write about Terry’s range, in the UK, so we go back a l-o-n-g way – but also a chance for us to play with Terry’s latest skincare and make-up innovations.
The first thing we fell for? By Terry Hyaluronic Lip Liner, which comes in a choice of six great shades, almost any of which would work with any lip tone, we think. (Though we like Tea Time – a rosewood shade – best, if pressed to choose.)
It’s comfy and glide-y to apply, but seriously budge-proof. Easy to use to sketch all over lips – and again, makes a great base for colour to cling to. It’s plumping, too, powered by hyaluronic acid (and again, Terry was the very first person who ever mentioned those two magic words to us).
But one of the things we love most about this pencil is its ‘barrier function’ – by that we mean: the subtle waxy outline it creates, which very effectively stops lipstick bleeding.
And whaddya know: we might as well have eaten our words about lip liners, along with the very delicious Arts Club asparagus.
Mwah, mwah, Terry!
