Beauty Bible Weekend Steal: RHS Home Grown
A lovely, lovely, LOVELY new collection created by Heathcote & Ivory for the Royal Horticultural Society, just in time for the mega-gardening moment in the calendar. (We know that spring has arrived when Monty, Nell and Patti reappear on our screens on Gardener’s World!)
So gorgeously packaged, of course – illustrations of fruits and veg and all things gardening – but as ever with H&I, the formulations are outstanding and the prices very pocket-friendly. We’re especially pleased to see that they now offer a Moisturising Antibacterial Hand Gel/£12 for 430ml in the RHS Home Grown range, at a hefty 70% alcohol (as per WHO guidelines), which is honestly one of the nicest we’ve found, leaving hands moisturised and silky and fragrant with notes of lemon, mandarin, orange, crushed basil and thyme. (And straw hats off to H&I for the packaging, which isn’t just beautiful, but is created from post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic.)
Other stand-out products for us…
RHS Home Grown Hand Cream and Twist Key/£10 for 100ml (below) – we absolutely LOVE a twist key on a tube, ensuring that we can get to every last drop. This is wonderfully softening, with carrot seed oil, pumpkin extract and something called ‘snow mushroom’, which is new to us but holds 500 times its weight in water.
RHS Home Grown Herbal Bath Salts/£10 for 400g – a reusable, recyclable glass jar of Himalayan salts, infused with thyme and rosemary, perfect for sinking into after a day’s weeding. (Or reading, come to that.)
RHS Home Grown Hand Essentials/£8 – handbag-sized duo of hand creams, plus a pocket-friendly size of the anti-bac spray, for on-the-go-spritzing.
The spiffy, pretty new Heathcote & Ivory website is worth a browse, too – just so, so much loveliness, and so many present-giving opportunities.
