Beauty Bible Weekend Steal: Fenjal Classic Luxury Crème Bath Oil
It is a week for nostalgia. A week of flag-waving, street party-ing, trifle-making, scone-baking anticipation and celebration. And the perfect moment, we thought, to remind ourselves of a deeply nostalgic bath treat: good old Fenjal Crème Bath Oil, rediscovered recently when shopping in a local pharmacy.
If you’ve never used Fenjal, ask someone over 45 what it’s like (and prepare for them to come over all misty-eyed). But actually, Fenjal got a bit of a groove back lately, featuring supermodel Tatjana Patitz in their German ad campaign. In the days long, long before aromatherapy was a word on beauty-hounds’ lips, Fenjal was one of two go-to bath treats for pretty much everyone. (The other being Badedas.) We would be VERY surprised to discover that Her Majesty herself hadn’t ever sunk beneath its aqua-tinted waters, actually.
Today, Fenjal features 82% natural oil – which ensures you emerge from the water super-silky of skin – but has that same, completely distinctive smell, with powdery notes of vanilla, orange blossom and rose, but also a bracing touch of spruce and a whisper of patchouli, too. A little bit creamy, a little bit cool… Quite simply, it doesn’t smell like anything else. And quite simply, it needs to be experienced by everyone.
We say: nip to your local chemist, and spend some of this long, languid weekend wallowing – quite literally – in nostalgia. (Possibly wearing a tiara, because why the heck not?)
