Beauty Bible Weekend Steal: E45 Repairing Hand Cream (and other goodies)

We’re not big on ‘celebrity endorsements.’ But if a skincare range is good enough for Sarah Jessica Parker – and it’s virtually pennies, rather than hundreds of quid – well, our interest is most definitely piqued.

On the brilliant debut episode of Caroline Hirons’s podcast, ‘Glad We Had This Chat’ (listen to it here), SJP professed herself a big fan of good old E45. That faithful stalwart, fragrance-free, hypoallergenic skincare line, designed for even the touchiest and driest skins, and priced for lavish use.

Shopping in Boots (presumably the branch on The Strand, since it was conveniently sited for her run in ‘Plaza Suite’ at The Savoy Theatre, SJP bought the E45 Foaming Cleanser, telling Caroline: ‘I love E45, I fell in love with the body [products]...I don't do many steps skincare.’

So popular is the E45 Lotion, actually, that it now comes in a one-litre size (always a testament to how customers love something), for just £19. You can literally slather it from hairline to toe, as it’s suitable for faces as well as bodies.

Too bad that SJP skipped town before the launch of a new E45 ‘find’, though, which we’re enjoying: E45 Repairing Hand Cream. In a dinkier and much more handbag-friendly size (50ml), it’s an instantly soothing ‘drink of water’, for hands, featuring 10% moisture-binding urea and glycerin, in the ingredients list. (Note: this range, as with many that are targeted at sensitive skin, is mostly synthetic-based – ironically, many of the known sensitisers in cosmetics are botanically-derived.)

It's suitable even for use on eczema and cracked skin, unlike many creams. Reckon they should send a box of ‘em to New York, so that their famous fan – a true accessories – can slip one into each of her many handbags.
