Fab Find Of The Week: Velvet Smoke Filthy Rose Bath Soak

Well, if this isn’t a match made in heaven, we’d like to know what is.

The scent of Velvet Smoke’s Filthy Rose candle – a Beauty Bible fave, which we’ve raved about on several occasions (including here) – has been transformed into a bath soak, in collaboration with the equally brilliant people at fellow female-founded brand Soapsmith, creators of amazing, silkifying bath soaks (Beauty Bible Award-winners for those soaks, actually).

Velvet Smoke, of course, was co-founded by our make-up artist friend Lisa Potter-Dixon and her interiors dynamo friend Lia Briamonte. Their brand offers home fragrance, home accessories – and this is their first (but hopefully not last!) ‘beauty foray’.

The scent – black pepper, armfuls of rose, saffron, tobacco and amyris – translates beautifully to this format. Simply add two to three scoops of Filthy Rose bath soak to running water and (they advise), ‘Pour yourself a glass of champagne, dim the lights and allow yourself to be submerged in utter joy.’ Being teetotal, Sarah will skip the champers bit, thank you very much – but we couldn’t put the spirit of it better ourselves.

With its blend of coconut milk, sea salts and fragrant oils, it leaves skin veiled in this most divine scent – and velvet-soft, with it. In fact, after soaking in this, Lisa and Lia insist, ‘Your sheets won’t ever want you to leave.’

Blimey, girls, it’s hard enough to get out of bed in the mornings without hearing that! But we totally get what you mean. Gorgeous, gorgeous stuff.
