You’re invited to a fragrant tea with Jo at The Star in Alfriston

Exciting news, we think, for fragrance-lovers and Beauty Bible followers: on Friday 11th October 2024, from 3 - 5.30 p.m., Jo’s going to be hosting a special tea and fragrance workshop at The Star, The Polizzi Collection’s stunning hotel in the picturesque East Sussex village of Alfriston, which is located between Brighton and Jo’s home town of Hastings.

With a special menu created by The Star’s patissiers (see below), the focus of the event will also be a fun fragrant session in which you’ll get to smell lots of different and delightful scents, and will include a fascinating ‘How to Improve Your Sense of Smell’ workshop.

This unique workshop is based on a technique Jo learned over 30 years ago from a trio of stellar scent experts: Jean Kerléo (of Jean Patou, and also founder of Paris’s Osmothèque scent archive), Jacques Cavallier Belletrud (now resident perfumer at Louis Vuitton, but creator of fragrances from Jean Paul Gaultier Classique to Stella McCartney’s Stella), and Karyn Khoury, who was the guiding light of fragrance creation at the Estée Lauder Companies, becoming a treasured colleague of Jo’s.

Jo – who is also, of course, co-founder of Green & Black’s and Editor of the perfume magazine The Scented Letter, for The Perfume Society – has hosted dozens of these fragrance workshops, over the years. They’re always hugely enjoyable, and Jo’s seen time and again how the simple (and fun!) technique that she’ll share on 11th October has helped many people significantly to improve their sense of smell, deepening their appreciation of scents, and, as a result – says Jo – ‘of life itself.’

Oh, and the food…! You’ll have a choice of coffee or teas, with sandwiches, scones and an array of fragrant cakes and pastries to enliven the senses.

PLUS… of course there’ll be a FAH-BU-LOUS perfume goodie bag, to go home with!

Hope to see you there…
