The reinvention of our friend Bobbi Brown
When Bobbi Brown stood down from her beauty brand after 25 years at its helm, there was no way she was going to drop off the radar.
First, there was a hotel to finish – The George, in Montclair, her home town in New Jersey. It's on our bucketlist, for sure. (Get an idea of why, by scrolling down.)
But we also want to draw your attention to her revved-up personal website, justbobbi.com – which she's dedicated to helping women reach their true potential, health-wise, beauty-wise and life-wise. ('Wise' being one of the words that always springs to mind when we think of Bobbi. And oh, do we go back a l-o-o-o-n-g way, Jo having written the very first article about her in the UK, when the make-up line landed at Harrods.)
Bobbi also has poured that wisdom – and her philosophy – into her site, sharing nuggets to live by, alongside wellbeing advice, highlights from her career and meetings with amazing women, and some just downright great 'finds'. (This is the woman who first introduced us Ugg boots, for instance, long before they were a 'thing' – and is a connoisseur of the best and most useful in everything. Just check out her 'Curated by...' section, if you don't believe us, which now has us longing for a Smeg mini-fridge, among other lust objects ranging from savvy wellbeing books to water bottles via toothpaste, beach towels and unbreakable IKEA poolside glasses.)
We especially find inspirational her section on 'How I Get It All Done' (and ALL is A LOT for this mother-of-three). Find it here. There'll also be more and more, we figure, on wellness – since Bobbi has been training as a nutrition expert, pursuing something she's become more and more passionate about, down the years.
So: we'll forever be devoted to the make-up Bobbi Brown created – and which her brand continues to innovate, now.
But it's good to know that when we crave a little of that very special 'Bobbi energy', we've some place to hang out with her, and feel inspired.
