Beauty Bible Loves... OLAPLEX No.5 Leave In Moisturize and Mend Leave In Conditioner

We’ve never exactly fallen head over heels for a leave-in conditioner – but this is different. Of course, they save a huge amount of faff (who wants to spend longer rinsing than you need to?), but on our dry, coloured hair, more is generally more when it comes to conditioning. Hair masks are our ‘thing’.

But this is the exception that proves the rule, a product we’d never have given a second glance to, probably, if it hadn’t turned up in our Cosmetic Executive Women Beauty Demo Evening goodie bags. Only fair to give it a go, then.

First time, Jo used OLAPLEX No.5 Leave In Moisturize and Mend Leave In Conditioner on dry, not wet, hair. (Dry in two senses of the word, then.) A mere squirt, smooshed between the palms and skimmed through hair on the morning of an important meeting, mmediately answered the S.O.S. from post-holiday hair in need of a trim, instantly turning ends from fried to soft and silky.

That was encouragement enough to put it through its paces for the intended purpose – an actual post-shampoo, leave-in conditioner, designed to ‘help minimise the look of split ends and broken strands with an instant burst of hydration.’ Again, impressed! (And as a bonus, it seems to deliver on its promise of protection during heat-styling. Shine factor HIGH.)

We shouldn’t have been surprised. OLAPLEX have made a speciality of hair bonding and sealing – and sure enough, this contains what they call ‘OLAPLEX Bond Building Technology® and High-Adhesion Sealing Complex.’

So, if – like us – you’ve ever dodged leave-in conditioners, believing them not to be nourishing enough for thirsty hair, prepare to have your preconceptions smashed to smithereens.
