Oh, Lord, this is probably designed for people (or as Lily England put it, ‘mer-babes’) three or four or maybe more decades younger than us – but do we care?

Nope. Because we’ve all got an inner mermaid in there somewhere, and this Mermazing Brush Set taps right in. These ombré shimmer brushes are going to make us smile every single morning as we use them to style our hair – because that they do brilliantly.

We’ve been very impressed lately by what this brush company is doing – it was founded in 2014 by a Brighton-based beauty entrepreneur who’d previously worked in beauty for Selfridges and Burberry. There’s quite a bit selection, now, but this capsule collection will take care of most hairstyling needs: a vent brush, a paddle brush and a styling brush, all with super-smooth (albeit shimmering) handles, and kind-to-hair bristles.

To be honest, until fairly recently, we pretty much thought all hairbrushes were created equal. But then in a hair S.O.S. Jo bought a cheap vent brush in Boots and was absolutely horrified by how it dulled and even frizzed her hair. Well, these do the exact opposite.

And if they’re a little bit too ‘My Little Pony(tail)’ for you, you’ll want to know that the same set is available in a gorgeous rose gold, or alternatively marble-effect and rose gold.

But we’re perfectly happy with this cheerful, inner-mermaid-pleasing line up, thanks.
