Are you ready for your #Smellfie?
So here is a little bit of fun – and heaven knows, we could all do with a bit of that right now.
Monday 21st March 2022 is International Fragrance Day, and as you know, we’ve always been a bit smell-obsessed, around these parts. In fact, that’s what led Jo (Fairley) to set up The Perfume Society with fragrance industry expert Lorna McKay; Jo still edits The Scented Letter, the Society’s magazine – and is as mad about perfume as ever.
During lockdown, fragrance really proved its power to comfort and cocoon us. We wore fragrance for personal enjoyment, and sometimes, to give courage. #Smellfie Day – now in its eighth year – celebrates our love of fragrance, and we’re inviting you to share a photo next Monday of yourself – a ‘smellfie’ – with a favourite scent. (Posing with a pet is optional!) Choose one that makes you feel strong, or empowered, or safe – because of course perfume has the power to do all of those things.
Here’s what to do…
• Post a picture of yourself on Instagram or Facebook (or both!) with your chosen fragrance, using the hashtag #smellfie (two ‘L’s, by the way)
• Be sure to tag @theperfumesociety on social media
