Fiona Cairns Rose Gourmand for Waitrose & Partners

Well this is just one of the loveliest-smelling ranges we’ve come across in a l-o-n-g time.

If you’re not a fan of ‘good-enough-to-eat’ gourmand scents, don’t be put off: although this was created for Waitrose & Partners by ‘Queen of Cakes’ Fiona Cairns (who baked the cake extravaganza for the Duke & Duchess of Cambridge), this is more of a ‘Mummy’s handbag’ of a scent: soft, powdery, swirling with lipsticky traces of rose.

There are many different layerable goodies in the collection, from a sublime sinks-in-fast rosy hand cream via a bath soak, body lotion and a fabulous bar of soap. (Almost too nice to unwrap. You might slip it in your knicker drawer, instead!) And all incredible steals, we feel.

It landed on Jo’s desk because she interviewed Fiona recently for Waitrose Weekend mag (where she happens to be Beauty Editor) – and it aint going anywhere. Except straight to her bedside table and bathroom…
