Fab Find of The Week: Wildsmith English Stoneware

We’re all about keepsake beauty nowadays. Items that can be treasured, down the years – and, of course, re-filled.

So we were delighted to encounter this trio of eco-luxury products at a Wildsmith Skin launch at the fabulous Spring restarurant, the other day (product news will follow, we promise!) Spring is the ‘sister’ restaurant to Heckfield Place, the award-winning hotel home of Wildsmith Skin, where some of the botanicals for the Wildsmith Skin range are even sourced.

Wildsmith have partnered with one of the remaining artisan potters in Stoke-on-Trent to create these beautiful vessels for a Hand Wash, Hand Lotion and The Bothy Candle. Gorgeously tactile, they can be endlessly topped up from one-litre aluminium refill bottles; they’re created in small batches, and even the pump dispensers can be re-used.

The Hand Wash and Hand Lotion are already much loved, with their subtle botanical scent of linden and chamomile, ticking our boxes as being gentle but effective (the wash), and sinking in fast while nourishing (the hand lotion); they’re also available in less pricy plastic bottles, below – and those, too, can of course be refilled from the one-litre size, if you prefer.

As for the candle? The Bothy Candle is named after the hotel’s spa: a fabulous scented posy of sage, peppermint, rosemary and palmarosa, chamomile, rose and sage, created to evoke to Heckfield’s walled garden, and flickering in our office, as we speak, leaving us to dream of massages and facials, while we tip-tap away at the keyboard.

Not cheap – but so special, and we love the idea of helping to keep those artisans in the potteries from extinction.
