Fab Find of the Week: Ted Baker With Ted make-up

There may be plenty of you not even bothering with a slick of tinted moisturiser right now, never mind full make-up. But this new With Ted collection from Ted Baker is just so beautiful that we wanted to put it on your radar – for the future, if not exactly for now.

What really attracted our eye was the fab, Art Deco-style packaging – as if from a wonderful 1920s fabric, maybe with a touch of 1970s Biba about it. But looks alone are never going to seduce us when it comes to make-up – and that’s where we’ve been pleasantly surprised. In line with their positioning as a beautifully-designed, well-made, middle-priced fashion line, the quality of With Ted make-up is impressive.

It isn’t a complete line-up, for now – no concealers or foundations, for instance. But highlights for us are a really easy-to-use, easy-to-hold NEWYRK eyeliner (yup, that’s the spelling), a great CAPRII self-sharpening swivel-up lip liner, clever MONTEGO dual-stick eyeshadow (great for a touch of shimmer on brow-bone, in soft gold or light silver).

We’re also keen on the divine, creamily moisturising REGENT satin lipsticks whose mechanism reminds us of Chanel Rouge Allure – you depress the top, to access the lipstick itself (the bullet of which is embossed with a fab design, in itself). The compacts, too, are completely beautiful – basically, stuff that you’d be proud to whip out at the dinner table, for a mid-course touch-up.

Because yes, there will be dinners. There will be ‘out’. There will be glamour, again. And with this, we’re poised.
