Fab Find of The Week: Pacifica Reusable Face Masks
Single-use beauty products – most notably sheet masks – have become a really thorny environmental issue, in the past few years. In the wider context of the world having discarded literally billions of disposable face masks (of the decidedly non-beautiful kind) in the past few years, it's become even complicated: is anyone going to begrudge you using a skin-quenching sheet mask, every now and then...? We'd be lying if we said we never do it ourselves (although generally, we reserve the use for travelling). But honestly, in reality, throwing away a foil pack and a sheet isn't sustainable.
For the first time, though, we've found a viable alternative: Pacifica Reusable Masks. The patches are made from medical-grade silicone, designed to be used in tandem with your favourite skin-quenching serum. They adhere to the surface via a sort of vacuum action, and work by flooding that hydrating serum into the skin, trapping it there and plumping. They're secure enough for you to be able to potter around in, or use at your desk (though we would perhaps advise against frightening the postman in them).
Four designs: Undereye Masks, Brow Lift Masks, Lip Line Masks (for the troublesome feathering above and below the lip zone), and Smile Line Masks, which sit over the actual mouth (and should be used in tandem with a specific lip treatment product rather than a general serum). But because you use your own serum, you know how well your skin will respond to it, and there's no risk of irritation.
Each set comes in a cute storage tin (boy, are we suckers for a nice tin!), and provided you clean them afterwards (soap and water are just fine), they can be used again and again. And again...
