Fab Find of the Week: Jo Malone London x Rodin olio lusso
So: a few years back, this amazing, yet surprisingly under-the-radar brand – founded by Linda Rodin – was acquired by Estée Lauder. We were terribly excited, having long been fans of Rodin olio lusso: these are products we’d buy ourselves from Liberty, for the amazing scents and textures. We expected great things (we know Lauder from way back and are unswerving in our admiration), but the brand really didn’t go anywhere much. (And was still pretty much a Liberty exclusive.)
Come the pandemic, though, it disappeared altogether. We might have shed a little tear, actually (which sounds a bit pathetic, but we know that YOU know what it feels like when a favourite brand drops off the radar, seemingly forever).
Well, we’re doing a dance around the office now because – hoorah! – some of our favourites in the line have reappeared under the Jo Malone London umbrella – which frankly is just where they belong, because the scent of these products has always been a huge strength. It is TECHNICALLY a limited edition, but we’ve a hunch what that means is: if enough of us buy it, it’ll hang around. (That often happens.) So: here’s what to sniff out.
Jasmine & Neroli Luxury Oil Gel Cleanser /£50 for 180ml. A clear gel that gently lathers, yet doesn’t leave skin taut at all thanks to its infusion of argan and evening primrose oils. Those rich notes of jasmine and neroli are pretty much Rodin olio lusso’s signature, and the key reason we swoon for this range.
Jasmine & Neroli Luxury Face Oil /£66 for 13ml. Evening primose and rose seed oils, and again, that heavenly scent.ftness
Luxury Face Cream /£66 for 50ml. Well, OK, haven’t tried this - but it apparently boasts shea butter and apricot kernel oil. Keen to check it out (if anyone from Jo Malone London happens to be reading this).
Jasmine & Neroli Luxury Body Oil /£88 for 109ml. Divine, divine, divine. That smell! You’ve really got to sniff it to believe how gorgeous and opulent it is.
Jasmine & Neroli Luxury Hand & Body Cream /£56 for 100ml. A must for the bedside, with macadamia and jojoba oils plus shea butter, potently scented with those white floral notes.
A happy-making smell, and an entirely happy-making outcome. Long may Rodin olio lusso flourish, in its new home.
