Fab Find of The Week: Jo Malone London Wild Swimming fragrances and Face Mist
We were always going to be drawn to a collection called 'Wild Swimming', since we're keen wild swimmers at Beauty Bible. (Well, Jo is.) And even though it meant a crack of dawn start, she wasn't about to miss the launch of Jo Malone London's latest fragrance collection, at the Serpentine North Gallery. (Although she was slightly disappointed that it didn’t involve a dip in that famous body of water!)
The scents in the collection include…
Aqua Lemon – zesty, super-fresh, like a dip in cool fresh water, with mandarin, spearmint and soft cedarwood.
Forest Moss – cool, damp, grounding, with earthy geranium and aromatic moss notes wrapped around fresh juniper.
Crystal Campion – rose, rippled with dewy violets and luscious blackcurrant, designed to evoke (in the words of Jo Malone London) ‘The crystal waters of a hidden cove, lined with smooth pebbles and trimmed with dainty campion flowers.’ We’re so there!
Wood Sage & Sea Salt – this now-classic scent is being showcased again in the collection, as it’s the perfect complement, with its salty-mineral sent, gusting through the earthiness of sage.
Salty Amber – we’re saving the best for last (in our opinion); this is the one in the collection we’ve been returning to most, with sensual notes of amber and patchouli, a salt water note, and a hint of cardamom, warming you up as if slipping into a DryRobe after a dip. It conjures up ‘an exhilarating swim at high tide…’ Can’t wait till those start up again, in real life.
For the first time, Jo Malone London will later this month be launching a Hydrating Facial Mist (below), very lightly scented with Crystal Campion. Created without alcohol, it’s wonderfully refreshing, leaving skin veiled in a soothing, remoisturising mist that includes hyaluronic acid. A great afternoon boost (and mindful moment), we think.
