Fab Find of the Week: Bronnley Lemon Soap

Oh, happiest of days, when this parcel landed on our desks last week.

We are life-long – literally – devotees of this unique, heavenly, lemon soap. Our mums used it, and so have we! Astonishingly, Bronnley Lemon Soap first debuted over 100 years ago.

But it pretty much disappeared from sight – until our clever friends at Heathcote & Ivory (and you know how we love them) acquired the Bronnley brand, with plans to restore it to its former glory. (Bronnley have been soap-makers to the British Monarchy since 1943 and the reign of George VI.)

We love, love, LOVE everything about this soap, from the zesty scent of lemon and bergamot to the hand-friendly shape, the formula – enriched with shea butter, so it is kind to hands – the gentle sudsing effect… even the tissue paper it comes wrapped in, which is imbued with a wonderful citrusy scent. Our tip, by the way: before use, keep the lemons in your underwear drawer, where they will impart their gorgeous, light fragrance.

And as for the box? Newly redesigned with hand-painted lemons (and much too nice to throw away! See, we really have turned into our mothers.)

So, all hail to the return of a beauty icon – as you can tell, we are SO feeling the lemony love!
