Fab Find of the Week: new Bramley Skin
Be still, our beating hearts. Honestly, they did a little skip when news of this Bramley development pinged into our inbox, and we most definitely have NOT been disappointed to try Bramley’s first foray into skin, in real life.
We’re pretty sure you know and love Bramley from their bath and body collections. Several times Beauty Bible Award winners, we’ve long been enraptured by the scents and the naturalness of the range created by Chloe Luxton, originally for the enjoyment of guests to her husband’s West Country gastropub but now very widely known and enjoyed.
But skincare is obviously a quantum leap, formulation-wise – and it lands as a pretty epic collection, with 22 different creations, 100% naturally-derived and harnessing the power of botanicals including native herbs and flowers found in wild British meadows, in keeping with Bramley’s existing vibe. It is, however, science-backed – not wiffly-waffly formulations, but serious skincare creations, all approved by The Vegan Society and carrying Leaping Bunny certification.
There are products for face AND body in the line-up, as well as a Calming Diffuser and candle. But here, for us, are highlights. (Haven’t tried everything yet. We’ve only got so many square inches of skin!)
Cucumber Reviving Eye Serum. Silky, cooling, soothing – just the thing for tired eyes, with a formula based around cucumber juice extract, probiotics and redness-reducing bisabolol. Eyes just feel better (and look it) from first tiny dab.
Rose Petal Refreshing Toner. A spritz-on toner based around Bramley’s own Somerset home-grown rose and lavender flower waters, this is just heaven to use – a toner for toner cynics’, we call it. (You can spray it onto a cotton pad, if you prefer, then swipe over skin.)
Raspberry Seed Illuminating Face Oil. Prettily-scented with lemon myrtle, rose geranium, neroli, petitgrain and linen, this is powerfully nourishing from first drop, rich in Essential Fatty Acids and powered by oils of grapeseed, jojoba, sunflower, raspberry and rosehip, among others. A complex oil that is a pure pleasure to use.
Cranberry Seed Glowing Body Scrub. The only one of the body treats we’ve yet used, this is brilliant for buffing away dry, dead skin, based around sea salt and pulverised cranberry seeds, in a base of shea butter and sunflower seed wax, so that skin’s left soft, but not in the least dry.
We’re loving the chic, more minimalist packaging, with simple line drawings by Claudia Lowry, the textures AND the scents. All in all, the most brilliant skincare debut – and our only worry is that you’ll be spoiled for choice.
