Fab Find of the Week: Bobbi Brown newness
A wee while ago, Beauty Bible had the pleasure of attending the first in-real-life event Bobbi Brown had hosted for over two-and-a-half years. We had almost – ALMOST – forgotten how good it is to get a stranger’s perspective on shades and textures that would suit us (the ‘strangers’ in this case being Bobbi Brown’s pro team, who are among the best in the land).
Since then, we’ve been playing with – and coming to love – several of the products we discovered there. Fab finds, every one – so here are three VERY good reasons to get yourself to a Bobbi Brown counter, for a play (and maybe even a makeover) of your own.
Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Cream Shadow Stick /£27. Now, this isn’t new – but it’s ‘improved’. A longstanding favourite of Jo’s, in particular, it’s even MORE budge-proof, great for a smoosh-and-go eye make-up look that really goes the distance. There’s a range of neutral shades, with a matte but not flat finish – Vanilla, for instance, is brilliant for the under-brow area – but our go-to is Bark, a deep brown which is brilliant for lining and (when blended with a finger), shading.
Bobbi Brown Crushed Oil Infused Gloss Shimmer /£20. With all the nourishing power of a lip oil, all the flattering gleam of a slightly sparkly lip gloss. (We are not talking disco diva here; just enough glimmer to scatter the light and flatter, even to create the illusion of slightly plumper lips, but as good for day as for evening.) There are a couple of pale shades, but our preference is for the soft red Kir Sugar.
Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Eye Base /£37 for 15ml. OK, so NOT make-up, exactly – but we’re loving it UNDER make-up. It’s not an ‘eye cream’ per se, but a primer that really creates a velvety-smooth finish and boosts staying power. Unlike many of its ilk, it’s neither greasy, nor cake-y. Definitely non-irritating, on our sensitive eyes, too. A real find!
Very welcome additions to the autumn make-up kit. (And you certainly don’t need to be a pro to get the best out of them.)
