Fab Find of the Week: The Natural Africa Kalahari Melon Seed Oil
If you wonder what it means when products promise to ‘revitalise’ or ‘rejuvenate’ your complexion – just try this new Kalahari Melon Seed Oil.
We love facial oils and they’ve always done well in our consumer testing for Beauty Bible Awards but … another one? What, we wondered, could Kalahari Melon Seed Oil do better? Well, our bad. Using this lightweight golden oil on its own at night, as we did (although the brand also suggests using under sunscreen for day), the rosy glow and plumptious velvety smoothness were immediately obvious from the next morning.
A new addition to this capsule collection at The Natural Africa – no prizes for guessing where the inspiration and botanicals come from – Kalahari melon seed oil, the single ingredient in this product, is a powerhouse of skin-nourishing and hydrating nutrients. To survive and thrive in the arid desert conditions, the smart plant developed seeds with an abundance of essential fatty acids and antioxidant vitamins including lycopene and vitamins C and E. And these, as you know, are also brilliant for your skin.
We’ve now been using it for over a week and we’re big fans. The directions suggest applying 2-3 drops but you need a bit more, we find, if you’re stroking it over face, neck and décolleté. It’s fab massaged in with a gua sha tool or roller (jade, rose quartz or amethyst). But you could also add a couple of drops to your night or day cream.
And just in case you thought an oil would leave a greasy residue, absolutely not. Kalahari Melon Seed Oil adapts to all skin types: balancing oily skin without clogging pores, giving dry skin intensive hydration, soothing and calming sensitive skin, and evening combination skin. And, we should add, is a boon for our dry, older, very touchy complexions.
