Fab Find of the Week: La Vialla skincare newness

We have written before (here) about La Vialla, an exemplary organic farm and business based outside Arezzo, in Tuscany. And we thought we’d share some newness that’s landed on our desks, as they expand their collection from a basic trio of Serum, Hand Cream and Face Cream.

This an all-natural, biodynamic skincare range, packed with polyphenol antioxidants from the olive harvest, under the name ‘Oliphenolia’, which has been backed up with some pretty impressive independent scientific research – results showed that it was anti-inflammatory, hydrating, anti-bacterial and (yes) anti-ageing. (There is a real buzz in health circles about olive leaf extract, which is the foundation of this range.)

First up, joining the collection – with haircare to come soon, we’re told (and we can’t wait!) – is the Olive Salve, /€11.65 for 25ml, which has come into its own in recent weatherbeaten weeks, based not only on extra virgin olive oil and olive fruit water extract, but also vitamin E, grapeseed oil, fennel oil and the signature olive, ideal for any dry or irritated, itchy bits. Very useful for the handbag.

We’re very keen on Rich Protective Nourishing Cream Face & Body/€15.80 for 100ml. A little goes a long way but we very much like that it does top-to-toe, pretty much – from dry faces to dry heels and everything in between.

If you’re looking for something even richer, Body Balsam/€22.35 for 200ml, is your go-to: a hefty tub (not very portable, this one), in which lashings of shea butter feature alongside the olive oil. Not pictured (because Jo’s scooped out so much already that it’s not very photgenic!), but just luscious…

There are also two face washes, Delicate Gel Face Wash/€11.80 for 100ml – as gentle as the name suggests and ideal for all skintypes – and a version for troubled and acne-prone skins, Intensive Purifying Gel Face Wash/€14.80 for 100ml, which not only targets blemishes but also those niggly blackheads. Both are pH neutral and very skin-kind, gently lathering and perfect, we find, either for a morning cleanse or as part of a double-cleanse at night.

Though the website’s based in Italy, delivery is super-fast – and if you spend over £75, shipping is free. (That’s quite hard to do on the skincare alone, so we suggest you might throw in some health-giving olive oil, at least, with it!) Under £75, shipping is around £7.25.
