Elemis Superfood Night Cream

Such is the backlog of products waiting to land in our beauty regimes at Beauty Bible – honestly, it’s like planes circling in a holding pattern over Heathrow! – that it’s taken a while for us to get round to trying the Elemis Superfood collection.

But this delectable night treatment has us regretting that hold-up! (There’s also a day cream, an oil and a cleanser, which we’re trying to find a landing slot for!)

Let’s start with a couple of points about this. First, don’t be put off by the colour – Superfood Night Cream comes out of the pump-action bottle a sort of muddy, pale green. It goes on completely transparent, moisturising and replenishing lipids but sinking in well. A light cream, actually, that makes us think this wouldn’t overload oily and combination mature skins, as well as working well on our drier complexions.

The second point, though, is related to fragrance. We’re completely enraptured by this. It’s earthy, grounding – like walking into an expensive New York spa, actually. (Literally reminds us of a couple of places in Manhattan where we’ve had particularly off-the-scale-wonderful treatments, during our long careers.) But what we would say is: if you prefer light, floral, airy scents, maybe look elsewhere.

Skin looks vibrant by morning – wonderfully glow-y (even after the first night, is our experience). Rich in omegas, Elemis Superfood Night Cream contains a prebiotic and ‘concentrated superfoods’ derived from barley, quinoa and sweet almond milk – definitely good enough for your skin to eat. And that smell? Lots and lots and lots of vetiver, we’re making out, alongside lavender and ylang ylang – a scent designed to ‘promote feelings of relaxation before sleep.’

Sorry – was that us snoring…?
