Abigail James's DIY anti-ageing facial massage

We’ve always been huge fans of facial massage and, over many years, of facialist Abigail James, whose magic hands have lifted our faces and spirits in the past and, we trust, in the future too. But for now, it’s down to us – so we’re happy to have Abi’s updated video to guide us.

Abi’s recent Youtube video on her iconic, face lifting massage technique is a bit different to most, in that it’s silent.  Or, as she says, ‘NO TALKING’. Simple instructions come up on the screen so you know what to do. But otherwise it’s nine minutes of blissful peace – kind of half massage, half meditation.

Just NB you need to have cleansed your skin and have your favourite facial oil to hand. There is music on the video but you could mute that and play your favourite tracks instead.

Sitting at our desks following the video makes us feel pretty happy and relaxed and our faces look, yes, lifted and glowing. Find it here.

Warning: it’s pretty addictive – we find ourselves stroking, pinching and lifting at odd moments during the day…

Reading Abi’s blog on her engaging and informative website – abigailjames.com – we were intrigued to find that as well as being a facialist, qualified yoga teacher, author and mother, Abi’s a trained milliner and if she didn't do what she does would have loved to be a jewellery designer.

You can also link through to Abi’s winter skin and wellbeing switch ups, which includes the products she rates. As well as skincare (she suggests cream cleansers for winter and a hyaluronic acid serum such as iS Clinical Hydra-Cool Serum /£50 for 15ml), there’s an alternative, really good-for-you, Cacao + Collagen drink /£22 for 250g, from Ancient & Brave - and devices such as DYSON Pure Cool Me Air Purifier /£299. (She’s transparent about some of her recommendations being paid promotions, BTW).

And, like us, Abigail emphasises the importance of taking vitamin D3 with vitamin K2, now available as a great value oral spray: BetterYou DLux+ Vitamin D+K2 Spray /£9.95 for 12ml.
