In general, wipes have become a no-no for the wannabe-green beauty.

But hey, we travel on public transport – notably lots of trains – where the chances of finding a soap dispenser, water AND the drier working are less than getting three oranges on a fruit machine. (And we're sure we're not the only travellers to have squirted soap on our hands, only to find that there's no water... 'Wet wipes' come into their own, in these situations. But many are still made from plastics that don't break down, and drenched in drying chemicals.
