Beauty Bible Weekend Steal: Urtekram Soft Rose bodycare
Long, long before ‘Scandi beauty’ became a thing, there was Urtekram. Founded by Lisbeth Damsgaard and Ronnie McGrail, theirs was a pioneering naturals brand which offered fellow Danish natural foodies everything from brown rice and seaweed to toothpaste and sulphate-free shampoo.
They were total pioneers in natural beauty – and we’ve been fans for three decades. And we reckon this high-quality, all-natural and organic range (it’s Ecocert-certified) should be way better known than it is. So, having not so long ago discovered the range had been repackaged range (and looks much the better for it) we felt it was time to highlight some favourites.
Of the several available, we particularly love the Soft Wild Rose range because – well, it’s soft, and it’s rosy. We know from years of experience that rose is a scent that pushes your buttons, and this is a dewy, tea-rosy, altogether lovely fragrance that smells fresh, not heady.
Soft Wild Rose is actually an extensive range, now (see below for a few more examples) – but we picked out this trio of favourites.
Soft Wild Rose Body Lotion – light but luscious, the perfect daily body treat for top to toe (and at this price, you can afford to be generous). Terrific for post-summer skin.
Soft Wild Rose Body Wash – that same pretty, wafty rose scent, in a gentle, sulphate-free body cleanser that has plenty of humectant aloe vera, and won’t dry out skin.
Soft Wild Rose Body Butter – saving the best for last, a more luscious butter for dry bits (or a more indulgent feel), with macadamia nut oil and cocoa butter. It’s a fabulous pre-bedtime slather – pumps out its petalicious scent while you’re drifting off.
Definitely a great way to buy into the ‘Scandi beauty’ vibe, without too much damage to the old coffers.
