Weleda’s ‘Save Earth’s Skin’ Campaign
Weleda Skin Food is very often our go-to moisturiser recommendation for those looking for something to shield their dry, perhaps touchy skin – or simply, an all-natural product which is gentle on the planet, as well as the complexion. (For combination complexions, there is also Skin Food Light.)
Skin Food become a cult product, and with good reason, loved by beauty editors (like us) and famous faces alike. (Not least because it’s incredibly reasonably-priced…) In fact, one of these ‘Little Green Heroes’ is sold every 10 seconds…
But as Earth Day (22nd April) beckons, we are saluting Weleda for partnering once again with the charity Tree Sisters. From April to June, they are planting a tree for each and every Skin Food product sold on weleda.co.uk, as part of their commitment to protecting soil.
They’re also teaming up with environmental activist Arizona Muse and her soil regeneration charity, which glories in the name DIRT, as well as with the Sustainable Soils Alliance. Because, as Weleda point out – and you can watch Arizona’s video for them, below – the soil is ‘the skin of our earth’. What Weleda are setting out to do is ‘highlight the importance of soil and encourage people to make simple, positive choices to protect the soil, as they would their own skin.’ And we love the analogy with skin – somehow, it makes it so much easier to understand this huge environmental challenge.
(Skin) food for thought, for sure…
