Tea & Tonic bodycare
Gosh, we do love a cup of tea. Even better: enjoying some pampering while downing a cup of tea.
So Tea & Tonic is – well, definitely our cup of tea! It's an innovative brand which offers teas – including familiar brews like Earl Grey & English Breakfast – that are boosted by other ingredients (notably adaptogenic herbs), but provide a comfortingly familiar and reviving drinking experience. (Fact: while we have over the years stockpiled many different non-caffeinated teas, they do tend to languish in the cupboard gathering dust...)
But alongside the teas – and a BRILLIANT reusable, sustainable flask for on-the-go tea-drinking (find it here/£25) – there are some fab face and body products. We have particularly been enjoying these two.
First up: Bright Awakening Halen Môn Body Scrub/£39 for 200g, based on the famous Anglesey sea salt, based on Crambe Abyssinica and hemp seed oils We're finding it particularly good on shins and upper arms, which can get a bit dry and dusty-looking (and we're taking every opportunity we can – weather permitting – to get them out!)
It has a slew of skin-friendly botanicals alongside the base oils (think: extracts of schisandra, Siberian ginseng, gotu kola, amla and red clover), and a wonderfully uplifting, aromatherapeutic blend of lavender, juniper, bergamot and cypress. (Chaps seem to like this, too – great for hands after a grubby job.)
We're also really loving High Spirits Body Oil/£40 for 50ml, a luxe blend, again, of oils and plant extracts (including gotu kola, ginseng, Siberian ginseng and white poppy seed oil, among others). Again, it's the blend of essential oils that hooked us here: a spirit-lifting, energy-boosting blend of black peppermint, lavender, eucalyptus, lemon, black pepper, rosemary and frankincense – wonderful to smooth into skin first thing, to rev you up for the day.
As the name promises: just the tonic.
