Peacci Removals and Nail Nutrition Kit
We have to begin with a caveat: we haven’t tried this ourselves – because we don’t do gel nails. (Not great with horses, or for gardening.)
But we have lots of friends who love their gel and acrylic manicures (which in some cases have allowed nails to recover after a lifetime of nail-biting) – and they’re a bit panicked right now, because of course nail salons are among the many, many businesses which have closed their doors.
This comes from a Polish brand which has made a name for itself creating gel manicure products - and has now developed an at-home kit for taking them off. Which is important.
As Daisy Kalnina, founder of Peacci, observes: ‘It’s incredibly important to remove overgrown gel manicures properly. Overgrown gel can be irritating, and can sometimes chip or lift away from the nail - allowing dirt or bacteria to get underneath. It also obviously doesn’t look very nice!’
She continues: ‘Many people might be tempted to start picking or peeling their manicures once they begin to grow out, but this can cause serious nail trauma and damage to the natural nail. The best thing to do is remove your manicure using high quality products, whilst following expert instructions.’ To which end, Peacci have posted a step-by-step tutorial for removing your manicure at home, on their @peaccibrand Instagram.
The kit contains:
1. Soak Away – a high quality acetone solution to soak off nail products.
2. Two different nail files (one to file down product and one to shape the nail).
3. A pusher tool to nudge products away from the nail bed.
4. 100 lint-Free wipes (for use with the remover).
5. A buffer, to smooth the natural nail.
6. Nail clips, to let you get on with life while your nails are soaking off.
7. Peacci Cuticle Remover, to help remove dry skin and hang-nails.
8. Peacci Cuticle Oil – and this is where the TLC comes in: a peach- scented oil, to lavish onto nails after removal, in order to nourish and rehydrate.
Add up all that, we’re told, and it’s worth £60.50 – but it’s actually priced at £30. Good value – and a great relief, to many manicure devotees.
