Beauty Bible Loves... HILDUN Melting Moisture Lip Balm

Just at the perfect seasonal make-up switch-up moment, when our lips suddenly feel three sizes too small for our face, these are… well, they’re the elasticated waist of lip products.

This is our first encounter with Hildun, another ‘beauty editor brand’ (we’re seeing more and more of those), in this case founded by Irish beauty writer Suzy Griffin Dunne.

HILDUN Melting Moisture Lip Balms are quite the ultra-creamiest, dreamiest lip products we’ve tried in a l-o-n-g time. They’re called ‘balms’ and that’s what they feel like, on the lip – yet the finish is almost lipstick-like. So, so comfy, and so so pretty at the same time. 80% of the formula is made up of lip-conditioning ingredients, delivering a finish that’s super-glossy.

There are currently three shades, which are subtle variations on nude – see above. TBH, that’s the only disappointment, as we’d like something a little deeper in colour – but a little bird tells us that darker shades are in the pipeline, and for the moment, we’ll happily make do with the Rose Glow shade (see below), the deepest pinky-nude in the line.

This really is a skincare/make-up hybrid, and we’re impressed – and a little obsessed!
