Beauty Bible Loves... Gatineau Perfection Ultime Miracle Eye Contour

Very, very occasionally, a beauty product lands on the desk that makes us exclaim out loud, when we try it, ‘Bloody hell!’

This is just such a product. A perfectly unassuming little tube of Gatineau Perfection Ultime™ Miracle Eye Contour. But we’re always intrigued when a brand plasters the word ‘miracle’ on a product – certainly enough to give it a go.

And wow, wow, wow! So glad we did.

Take one small dot of the white cream. Massage into under-eye area and lids. (It goes a long way.) Look in mirror. Result: dark circles almost vanished, eye area brightened and ever-so-slightly radiant (without being shiny), fine lines and wrinkles less visible.

Miraculously – only word for it – the white dot of lightweight product morphs into a perfect match for skin (as with yesterday’s Fab Find of the Week, colour-adjusting technology is being increasingly widely adopted).

What’s more, if you use it on upper lids, it’s a perfectly decent and relatively grippy base for make-up. Concealer is barely necessary, because it’s so good at evening out skintone.

The ingredients? Niacinamide, vitamin E and aloe vera all feature. Along with ‘Eye of newt, and toe of frog, Wool of bat, and tongue of dog, Adder's fork, and blind-worm's sting, Lizard's leg, and owlet's wing,’ so far as we can make out.

Obviously we were joking about those, which we lifted from Shakespeare’s Macbeth, with its three cauldron-stirring witches.

But there’s definitely magic in there, somewhere.
