Beauty Bible Loves... FUL Intense Moisture Hair Mask

Every hairdresser we’ve ever interviewed has stressed the importance of hair masks, used on a weekly basis. But looking around, observing a lot of frizzled-frazzled hair, now that the central heating’s been on a while, we’ve a hunch that not everyone follows that advice religiously.

For us, regular masks are an absolute beauty must – and whatever the time of year, we will be reaching for FUL Intense Moisture Hair Mask as a regular mega-conditioning boost, from here on in. ‘Strengthening’ is the word that springs to mind: after a five-minute treatment with this, hair simply feels more resilient, as well as incredibly shiny. Strong, rather than floppy. It’s like it’s somehow built body, while smoothing the cuticle. Quite, quite brilliant on bleached hair. (Chemically bleached, rather than sun-bleached, this summer.)

Also, we tried this before realising that it’s free from silicones, mineral oils, sulphates (parabens, if you’re bothered), as well as being vegan and cruelty-free. Power botanicals that deliver that signature strength and shine notably include coconut oil and shea butter.

What we did also notice from first use is the scent – always the decider, for us. ‘Gosh, that smells amazing,’ said the lovely junior tending to Jo’s hair at John Frieda, where she’d snuck this in. It’s properly fragrant, sophisticated and a little bit exotic, a plummy fruitiness and a touch of musk, jasmine scampering over the lot.

Plus, the tub’s going to last for months and months. In other words, just beauti-FUL.
