Beauty Bible Loves... Evolve Organic Beauty Resveratrol + Niacinamide Serum

We love it when the universe (or more accurately, Evolve Natural Beauty) presents us with a new serum, the day our current product has run out – the ‘going-home present’ from Evolve’s 15th birthday celebrations, hosted by founder Laura Rudoe (gosh, we go back a l-o-o-o-n-g way…)

And so it was that we were immediately able to put this new serum through its paces – and duly, be impressed.

The addition to Evolve’s line-up is designed to brighten, and to target pigmentation. To be fair, that’s not our principal skincare concern – but we know that it is for many women; years ago, Clinique did some in-depth research that revealed women are more bothered by pigmentation than by wrinkles – perhaps because everyone gets wrinkles, but not every develops dark spots/sun spots. (So it feels  bit unfair.)

However, this serum contains two of our fave age-defying ingredients. Resveratrol is a super-antioxidant; this features a version from white mulberry at 3% strength, along with 4% niacinamide, another renowned brightener.

You will WANT to make a habit of using Evolve Organic Beauty Resveratrol + Niacinamide Serum, which is half the battle, because with all skincare, what we know is that consistency of use is key. It’s pale pink, silky to the touch, absolutely non-sticky (unlike many serums), and is very lightly scented with vanilla. Hyaluronic acid, aloe vera, sunflower oil and sunflower wax also feature, and all in all, it’s a fabulous prelude to SPF, or your regular night-time moisturiser. If you’ve oily skin, you might just be able to get away with this, in terms of moisturisation. (Since we live in the age of the £375+ serum – which we could never in all conscience feature on our pages – it’s not too extravagantly-priced, either.)

Performance? Feels great, nicely moisturising, while skin has had several compliments – and looking in the mirror, yes, it looks more radiant. Can’t really ask for more than that, after just a week’s use.

Evolve’s party was a wonderful and well-deserved celebration. And it served as a remnder that actually, 15 years ago, the natural beauty world didn’t offer products with textures as user-friendly as this, or formulations as complex and effective, because the ingredients simply weren’t available from manufacturers. It’s a sign of how far natural beauty has come that serums this good are available to us.

Heaven knows what advances the next 15 years will bring, but we’re pretty sure that founder Laura Rudoe and Evolve will still be bringing us state-of-the-art natural lotions, potions – and serums.
