Constance & Denny make-up/kit bags
We discovered these bags last week at the fabulous Decorative Living Fair, at Eridge Park, sitting alongside a pile of vintage kantha bedspreads and some rather gorgeous hand-blocked, Indian fabric PJs.
Constance & Denny is a truly lovely textile start-up. We salute founder Anna's philosophy, when talking about her collection: 'Some of our objects may have "imperfections", which we adore and want to promote. On a personal note, Constance & Denny is named after my children, who are themselves imperfectly perfect. Just as I like it.' Well, us, too.
These are brilliant if you're looking for a new make-up or kit-bag. With a wipe-clean interior, super-soft to the touch, hand-made in India – you really get a sense of the maker who created these – and available in three different patterns and three different sizes.
They're also jolly good for stowing all those cables and gadgets which get in such a tangle, in your tote – and there are jewellery rolls, too, all created in kantha-style, in which layers of fabric are secured together using a hand-stitch, giving a quilted effect.
Imperfectly perfect, we'd say.
