Botanics for Men

It is, in our experience, usually men who leave Valentine's gift selection till the last minute. (Wilted garage forecourt flowers, anyone?)

But should you be dithering over something to buy a beloved chap – which could equally be a dad, a brother (or your brother from another mother), some rather fab skincare finds for men just landed at Boots, sheltering under the Botanics umbrella. (Botanics was always Boots's most eco-friendly brand, based around plant extracts – but it's now rather come into its own.)

Botanics Moisturiser for Men. There are four versions, so something for every complexion:

• Moisturiser for Normal Skin/£5.49 for 100ml. Lightweight moisture, powered by vitamin E and re-energising ingredients.

• Organic Moisturiser for Normal to Dry Skin/£6.49 for 100ml, with lashings of cocoa butter, rosehip oil and jojoba oil (though we're a tad baffled as to why this one's organic and the others aren't!).

• Moisturiser for Sensitive Skin/£5.49 for 100ml, which is great for even the touchiest skins, fragrance-free but with clary sage essential oil, vitamin E and aloe vera.

• Moisturiser for Oily Skin/£5.49 for 100ml, a lightweight, oil-controlling lotion with willow bark extract, said to make skin less shiny for up to 12 hours.
