A Taste of Home: 120 Delicious Recipes from Leading Chefs & Celebrities (and us!)

It’s not every day you get to nestle between the covers with Stephen Fry, Sadie Frost, Andrew Marr, Paul McCartney, Yotam Ottolenghi – oh, and HRH The Duke of Cambridge.

But when our longstanding, now-retired Beauty Bible publisher Kyle Cathie invited us to share a recipe for her passion project A Taste of Home, we leaped at the chance – not because of the stellar company we’d be in, but because this cookbook, packed with 120 fab recipes, has been put together for such a very good cause.

The Passage is based in Pimlico, London, and since it was founded 40 years ago has helped thousands of people out of homelessness. During the pandemic, they offered sanctuary from the streets for even more people than usual, and established a mobile Food Hub offering hot, healthy meals for over 300 people a day.

We pretty much want to cook everything in this book, from Stephen Fry’s Spicy Asian Comfort Soup to Liz Earle’s Roasted Strawberry Ice Cream (well, when the weather warms up, anyway), via Monisha Bharadwaj’s Spicy Potato Tahiri and Petroc Trelawny’s Simple, Colourful Veggie Salad.

Our contributions, meanwhile, were Sam’s Roast Marinated Salmon (Sarah) to Chocolate Bread & Butter Pudding (from our own chocolate queen, Jo).

Friends and #fam, look away now – because we’ve each ordered a stack.

£25 – buy here (that’s an Amazon link; much nicer if you buy from hive.co.uk, whereby you can collect from a local bookshop or nominate a favourite bookshop to get a little commission on the sale, helping to keep indie bookshops open) – buy the book at Hive here
