We are over the moon that after a year of trials, we can now unveil the full line-up of The Beauty Bible Awards 2020 – read them here.
At Beauty Bible HQ we’re terribly proud that these Awards are referred to many times as ‘the only Beauty Awards that count – because they’re tested on real women’.
We’ve been doing this for 24 years, since our first book The Beauty Bible was published. Once again, over 1,500 women took part in this latest, completely fresh round of testing, divvied into groups of 10 sharing beauty concerns from wrinkles to lack cellulite via blemishes and age spots, frizzy hair and sensitive skin. Over 100 categories, in all!
You can read real-life comments from the women who trialled the products are featured with a description of each product – so you get a real sense of the experience of using each product and the results you can expect. Winning brands range from globally renowned names to eco-beauty start-ups.
It’s a military operation – but it’s so worth it to help women take a short-cut through the beauty jungle. And we know, more than ever, that people are conscious about not making beauty mistakes – which results in products languishing on the shelf or going to landfill.
We’ve always been ‘green’ [we launched The Green Beauty Bible in 2003] – and now there’s greater awareness about waste than ever before. But if something does well with our testers, it’s a great buy. End of.
We’re secretly rather thrilled that in 2020, more than half the winning products come from brands with a natural or organic focus, reflecting the huge advances in formulation and the growing concerns about what women put on their skin and hair. Certified cruelty-free and vegan-certified are becoming a real issue with women – and many of the featured products tick those boxes. Many of the top-scoring products overall are also Best Natural Award-winners – proving there are no compromises required when it comes to using greener, ‘cleaner’ products.
As we’ve so often seen before, there have been some incredibly high and consistent scores (as high as 9.75/10) – proving that there are lotions, potions and make-up innovations out there which work incredibly effectively and do deliver on what are often quite extravagant promises.
We’ve always known that there are beauty products that truly work. And for 24 years, our mission has been to help identify those products.
