Beauty Bible Weekend Steal: Weleda Prickly Pear Cactus skincare

We've come to know this skincare range rather well, over the past few months.

Based on a mega-hydrating ingredient derived from a member of the cactus family, and aimed at younger skins that tend towards dryness, Weleda Prickly Pear Cactus launches today (1st April), but earlier this year Weleda asked us to carry out one of our Beauty Bible Special Trials to get feedback on the range from 30 testers.

We're delighted to say that this very affordable range did so well, it's earned a 'Beauty Bible Approved' logo – our ultimate accolade. The trial was shorter than usual – just 14 days – but during that time, 93% of the testers agreed that the products gave their skin 'a long-lasting moisture boost'.

The hero product in the range is Prickly Pear Cactus 24H Hydrating Cream: 100% of testers who used the 24 Hour Hydrating Cream liked the texture – a truly incredible verdict! 100% of them felt they had softer skin, after 14 days, while 90% observed their skin was fresher-looking. 90% said skin became progressively less dry over the 14-day trial with the cream – but there were instant benefits, too, with 80% reporting skin to be instantly more glowing. A typical tester comment: 'Skin like silk after use. So soft and hydrated not dry at all.’ £14.95 for 30ml – buy here

Hydrating Eye Gel is another hero, actually. In the age of Zoom calls and #WFH, when we are spending huge amounts of time staring at our screens, a pretty flipping impressive 100% of testers commented on how it soothed their tired eyes, particularly while working at a screen. 85% felt the eye zone was better hydrated, too – and they loved how the rollerball helped to tackle puffiness, in line with this tester comment: ‘I loved the eye gel the most because it instantly woke me up. I get very puffy eyes in the morning and the eye hydrating product was excellent at instantly relieving this puffiness!’ £14.95 for 10ml – buy here

Hydrating Mist was a bit of a revelation for the just over half of Beauty Bible testers who'd never used a facial mist before. There was a synergistic effect, for most, turbo-charging moisture when they used it in combo with the other products. As one tester commented: Skin is no longer feeling tight or dry my skin feels soothed and relaxed whenever I use this product and it’s so easy to use.’ £16.95 for 100ml – buy here

The 24H Hydrating Lotion – for those with combination/oilier complexions – was another hit. An amazing 100% of testers felt skin looked and felt well-hydrated, at the end of the 14 days, with 83% reporting improved radiance, while for almost 90% of respondents, skin was softer and nearly 80% felt their skin was smoother. Good for applying make-up, too, so it goes on more smoothly. And one tester summed it up: ‘It had an immediate hydrating effect, my skin felt more hydrated, soft and replenished. It was light on the skin, easily absorbed and left my skin feeling comfortable (not tight at all).’ £14.95 for 30ml – buy here

These are results that genuinely blew us away – so we’re delighted that the Prickly Pear Cactus range has now been unveiled. Prickly by name, maybe – but ultra-moisturising and softening by nature.

And really quite the ‘steal’…
