Shalimar-lovers, check this out. Because we couldn’t help noticing, as we smoothed this unctuous, replenishing body oil into skin that’s had the life sucked out of it by central heating, that this has a rather gorgeous, familiar smell.

We sniffed. And sniffed again. And for whatever reason, this all-natural Weleda Body Oil has definite resonances of that classic Guerlain scent. A softness, a vanilla quality, after a slightly citrusy overture.

It certainly makes a wonderful ‘base’ for Shalimar, which doesn’t clash – and helps the fragrance to cling for longer, as perfume likes to fuse with oils (naturally-produced, or applied to the surface).
