Beauty Bible Weekend Steal: Child's Farm Oat Derma range
We couldn’t showcase a ‘Female Founders Month’ on BeautyBible.com without bigging up Joanna Jensen, founder of Childs Farm, which we’ve watched grow from essentially a kitchen table start-up (dreamed up on her farm in Hampshire) to a brand that’s available on every high street and in every supermarket. We know what it takes – and respect, Joanna.
Like many businesses, it was born out of spotting a need – for affordable, pleasurable products to tackle her daughters Mimi and Bella’s own skin challenges, since they both had sensitive, eczema-prone skin. The Oat Derma range is almost certainly the gentlest of all, though – because it’s designed for babies. (Though our feeling is that it’s just good for touchy-skinned tinies, but also those of us who suffer badly from itching, redness, sensitivity – and that definitely includes Team Beauty Bible).
There are three products in the range: Oat Derma Baby Wash, Oat Derma Bubble Bath and Oat Derma Baby Moisturiser, all very reasonably-priced. According to Childs Farm, their gentleness can be attributed to a ‘revolutionary’ new formula that features sustainably-sourced colloidal oatmeal and oat oil, which are indeed renowned for their skin-calming powers.
