Two minutes of calm. Guaranteed.
We believe in meditation. Really believe in it. It’s the perfect antidote to a stressful life and the sheer volume of information that assaults us. Now recent research from the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston indicates that regular meditation helps to keep your genes healthy.
However, meditation can (for some people) become yet another item on the To Do list that doesn’t get done – because we can’t find the time. (Cue guilt, as a result.)
So we love www.calm.com's solution. (And whoever was the genius who registered that domain name, we wonder? Our blood pressure drops a bit just saying it.)
Click on the website, choose a scene (a watery forest/beautiful lake/gentle lapping waves – and be led on a two-minute guided meditation. (Connect your headphones if you’re in the office.) Alternatively, if you’ve an iPhone, there’s a free App that does the same thing. (Love the fact you can then meditate during your commute, if you want to).
We can’t think of a better way to introduce yourself to the benefits of meditation, and how it improves mental clarity while easing stress. As time goes on, the website version allows you to choose longer meditation sessions. Find it here.
Our experience is that time taken to meditate magically makes more time in your day. So if you think you don’t have time to do it, maybe you don’t have time not to.
And even you can find two spare minutes, can’t you…?
