Left your liner at home?  Dampen an eyeliner brush with water, drip it into the darkest shade in your palette (dark grey, navy, brown etc.), and drag the brush along your upper lashes.  Or touch the tip of your mascara wand along the lash line of your upper lid, smudging quickly (mascara dries in seconds) with a Q-Tip.
